Dade Dudgeon - Capturing Nature's Light
by Dade Dudgeon
(Knowlton, Quebec, Canada)
An outdoor nature photographer, having been involved in photography since the mid 1970’s when I bought my first 35mm camera. I decided to concentrate on nature photography, when I started coming to Lac Brome and the Eastern Townships area of Quebec in 1978.
Never having attended any commercial photography courses I am a self-taught photographer. Any studying has come from reading (and re-reading in some cases) books by professional photographers such as Freeman Patterson, John Shaw, Tony Sweet, Ansel Adams and Jim Zuckerman. I also learned from the many outdoor photography magazines by studying their images to see what made them worth of being published.
I have been a long time member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA), the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) in the UK and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP).
In selecting the title “Capturing Nature’s Light” for the website www.natural-light-images.com I wanted a name that truly reflected my style of photography. This site also contains a Commercial projects section where you will see a number of photographs from a few local public events, taken on behalf of the organizers, including group portraits, weddings, & home interiors.
I am looking to expand into other areas of the business such as special gardens, pieces of furniture/antiques, background images for magazine articles etc.
One of my Fall images has been selected for the 2009 edition of Taproot IV book soon to be published throughout the Eastern Townships.
