Share Your Pet Photography

In my opinion, pet photography is a very interesting niche. Many photographers miss this because they don’t realize the connection most people have with their pets. I have a variety of pets. And, as I review my photos over the years, I have many pet photographs.

How about you? Do you have favorite pet photos? Would you like to share it with us? Please?

I became good at pet photos because when I was practicing shooting photos, the only models that posed for me “until I got tired,” were my trusted pets. I had dogs. My favorites were Staffordshire Bull Terriers. I raised and bred tropical fish. The photos of my dogs number in the thousands. The photos of my various tropical fish, over the years, number in the hundreds. I currently have Sulcata tortoises as pets. They have produced some very startling photos.

How about sharing your pet photo and story with us? We would love to hear about it. And, of course, we’d also like to see any pet photography that you’re willing to share.

Do you have any favorite pet pictures?
Which animals do you prefer?
Do you think that the location is important for the photo?
What skills do you think are required?
Do you promote your pet photos?

We’d like to know.

Want more information about pet photography?

Here’s a link to an article about getting photography customers by photographing their pets. It’s an article that I wrote explaining a technique that I have successfully used to get new photography customers. Like so many photographers, I’m not very outgoing (without trying real hard). This technique helped me to successfully build a very large photography customer base – by taking pictures of their pets! And, it is very easy to do. Take a look.
