Photography Is Made To Be Seen!

Show your work!

Your photography portfolio is critical to your success and increasing your exposure and the exposure of your work. But, the portfolio isn’t the only method of showing your work. Technology allows many creative and unique methods of showing your work and keeping your work in front of people. T-shirts, posters, mugs and other items are regularly used for pictures. Your work could be displayed in the same manner. Whether you do it yourself or work with a company that allows your customer to select how they want to display “your work.”

Photography Calendar

One method that I’ve found very successful is the “useful” gift – a calendar. With the proper software, computer anPhotography Photographerd printer, you can produce calendars, yourself. As a rule, calendars are kept longer and displayed in a prominent space. Depending on the photo that I include on the calendar, I personalize the calendar. In this example, space to keep track of growth is a feature that makes the calendar worth keeping around. First steps; First words; and places are criteria that are included on the calendar. I include my contact information on the calendar – my website address, in this case.

The second example is a good snap shot printed on a calendar. The context is obvious – child and granPhotography Photographerdfather. The calendars, both, include all twelve months – which helps to ensure that it is kept for, at least, the year. As simple as this method is to produce, it continues to prove very productive for me. I continue to get calls months to years after I’ve given the calendars. I once gave a calendar to a mother that worked in a large agency. The calendar was popular. I got customers because of the calendar. I gave each of the new customers a calendar. Long story short: at this particular agency, my calendars have become a “collectable!” Also, at the same agency, Photography Photographergreeting cards featuring my photography were very popular. The exposure continues to be good!

There are many methods to show your photography work. Using a little imagination and visiting various resources will spark creative ideas to help you show your work. From calendars, mugs, gifts, photo books, photography websites, online photo galleries, etc. the choices are limited only to your imagination.

Calendars - Many desktop publishing software programs can help you to produce calendars. Also, there are many popular calendar publishing software programs than can produce calendars that you customize. Be sure to include your contact info on the calendars – good calendars are on display for the entire year. Great exposure for you.

Greeting Cards – Everybody enjoys greeting cards. Whether you publish them with your desktops publishing software program or a word processing program – greeting cards work very effectively for marketing purposes.

A portfolio is a standard method for showing your photography. But, the other opportunities to show your work and increase your exposure are also very effective and productive.

I’ve used companies like Café Press to show my work in different ways. I’ve taken photo images and opened a Café Press online store. At Café Press you can start your own store and sell items and products with your photography or other art work imprinted. This is a good method to make a couple of dollars with your work. The best part is that your work is being shown. Utilizing a method like using Café Press allows you to be creative with showing your work; advertising your services; and increasing your popularity.
