So, you need a sample marketing plan! Marketing isn’t a mystery – it’s just not known by many of us. Often, we have no idea where to start. Having a sample marketing plan helps. Of course, there is no such thing as a “one-size-fits-all” marketing plan. This page offers links to various marketing plan tools. There are literally thousands of marketing tools available and many of them are very good. This page offers links to strategies I have tried and benefited from. The core of marketing is very simple: It’s about communicating the value of what you offer to those who can benefit the most.

Action Plan Marketing is a great marketing site. For my purposes, it is the most profitable marketing resource that I use - at any price. They actually provide strategies to ‘kick-start’ your marketing efforts. Sometimes, we are successful at writing a good plan. But, we then put it on a shelf or leave it somewhere on our hard drive. This site provides step-by-step tips for ‘taking action’ with your plan. Best of all, they offer a great sample marketing plan. They also offer a free 24 page chapter of a very effective marketing manual. The free book will outline the Executive Summary of Your Business tool and how to craft your core marketing message.
They also offer free marketing courses - both, by way of email and by teleconferencing seminars. Sample Marketing Plan Tool: Executive Summary of Your Business
Every business needs some kind of written materials to communicate what they offer and the advantages of doing business with them. This format, called an “Executive Summary,” can be the first page of your brochure or your website. It communicates the essence of what you offer. (For the purposes of demonstration, this website will be the example business. The following steps are implemented on this website. The blue text is added by me, the author of this website, for the purpose of providing a real example of how the tool below is being implemented):
1. Core Solution Statement – Simple phrase that communicates the essence of your solution.
“We help photographers identify their photography niche and increase their exposure.”
2. Problem – Discuss the problem, pain or predicament as to make it crystal clear that you both understand the problem and you understand the industry.
“The world of photography is huge and intimidating. These days, one of the biggest challenges in photography is finding a photography niche and targeting that niche – and then getting noticed. Currently, there are 200,000 photographers completing photography training each and every year. In that type of environment, targeting, researching and a finding a profitable photography niche is critical to success.”
3. Solution – Discuss what’s possible if you solve the problem.
“Not knowing where to start or go makes photographers ineffective and frustrated (both can be expensive). Most photographers that are professional aren’t profitable enough to be able to select the type of work they really want to do. The good news is that when you have a solid marketing plan for your specific business, new customers seek you out and old customers return year after year.”
4. How come? – Discuss why companies are stuck in #2 and not doing #3.
“Research proves that the top reason that photographers lose their focus is not their lack of will or their unwillingness to learn.
